Philip Seymour Hoffman film Assure Not About Scientology - THE MASTER tells the story of a charismatic intellectual (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who makes his own religious organization. Therefore a lot of news circulating that the film is affected by Scientology.
Paul Thomas Anderson movie plots is believed to be inspired by the life story of Scientology founder, L Rob Hubbard.
"This is not the story of L Ron Hubbard. Scientology was once one of the largest movement of its time, but also many similar movements at the time. I do not act or talk like I'm Hubbard," said Hoffman told Entertainment Weekly.
For this role, Hoffman refers more to the larger figure and influential, such as Orson Welles (Citizen Kane).
In a story set in the 1950's, the Hoffman paired with Joaquin Phoenix. Opponent plays a role as World War II veteran who had a trauma. Phoenix figures to the right hand figure played by Hoffman.
