30 Seconds to Mars is an American rock band from Los Angeles. The band was formed in 1998 by some personnel. However, with the departure of some of its personnel, since 2007, the band consisted only of Jared Leto (who is also an actor) at the position of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and songwriter, Shannon Leto on drums and percussion, and Tomo Milicevic on guitar and keyboards.

30 Seconds to Mars was originally formed as a small family project. Matt Wachter later joined the band as bassist and keyboard player. After working with two other guitarists, Kevin Drake and Solon Bixler, then they auditioned Tomo Milicevic to join.

Name 30 Second to Mars actually comes from their thesis found online, written by a former Harvard professor. CAREER
Their self-titled album was released on August 27, 2002 by Immortal Records and Virgin Records, which was produced by Bob Ezrin and Brian Virtue. His first singles, Capricorn (A Brand New Name), managed to occupy the number 31 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks.

Their second album, A BEAUTIFUL LIE, then released on August 30, 2005 by Immortal Records and Virgin Records, and was produced by Josh Abraham. The first single, Attack, 30 Seconds to Mars took to the summit of success. Then, in January 2006, the album was certified platinum from the Recording Industry Association of America for the distribution of more than one million albums.

March 2006, the band embarked on their first tour. This tour entitled Forever Night, Never Day. Then, in October 2006, the band embarked on Welcome to the Universe Tour, sponsored by MTV2. On March 1, 2007, while on tour in El Paso, Texas, Jared Leto announced that this was the last concert of 30 Seconds to Mars Matt Wachter. He dedicated the last song during the event, R-Evolve, for Matt. They also played at various festivals such as Roskilde, Rock am Ring, Pinkpop, Give It A Name and Download.

They went on to win Best Single for From Yesterday and Best International Band at the Kerrang! Awards, Best International Rock Artist at the MTV Latin America Awards and Best Rock Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2008. They also was asked to be one of the host.

In November 2006, the band released a video clip for the song From Yesterday is quite phenomenal. This video is the only and first video clip that the whole scene was taken in the PRC. Video clip The Kill once again be nominated for the MTV Australia VMA for Best Rock Video and Video of the Year.

In August 2008, Virgin Records filed a $ 30 million, based on the rejection of 30 Second to Mars to deliver three albums as written in the contract terms. According to the lawsuit, the band "reject" the contract in July 1999.

On April 28, they returned from EMI and the lawsuit was annulled. Immediately after the announcement of the lawsuit settlement, 30 Seconds to Mars told MTV News that they have promised to release THIS IS WAR in October 2009. According to their Twitter account, have completed at least four songs for their new album on May 27. Although the date has been changed several times, 30 Seconds to Mars announced that THIS IS WAR will be released on December 8, 2009.

Their third album, THIS IS WAR, finally actually released on December 8, 2009, after a few problems that befall them on a contract with Virgin Records will manufacture three full albums. On February 19, 2010, 30 Seconds to Mars launch their worldwide tour entitled Into The Wild Tour, which is scheduled to expire on December 18, 2010.

One unique thing from 30 Seconds to Mars is their logo depicting a phoenix (which they called Mithra) containing the motto of the band, from the Latin meaning "Keep moving forward until the" or more precisely "rocketed to the top". But the logo was changed to Trinity logo that contains three skulls and three arrows, which are dedicated for use since the release of This Is War, called the Triad.

The Echelon is the band's support group, which has many important tasks, including arranging fans, spread the news, provide voting for some awards, organize and develop the magazine and website dedicated to the band. This name was taken from one of the songs in her debut album 30 Seconds to Mars.

The band has managed to prove its existence as a rock band won the award for Best Rock Video at the MTV VIDEO MUSIC grand event AWARDS 2010. Video clip for their song Kings and Queens who brought them to bring home this prestigious award.
